BAN BULLYING AT WORK DAY
Set up in 1996 as the world's first non-political, not for profit charity on workplace bullying, the Andrea Adams Trust has tirelessly dedicated itself to raising awareness of this increasingly common and misunderstood issue.
This dedication led us to spear-heading an annual national awareness campaign, culminating in ‘Ban Bullying at Work' day, held to commemorate the anniversary of Andrea Adams death, the 7th November. By coordinating this campaign and building up interest and involvement with both public and private sector organisations, for those participating in events, ‘the day' has become synonymous with successful consequences in relation to the issues that surround workplace bullying.
Now in its sixth year, the campaign to date has been solely funded by the Trust and despite our best efforts to secure sponsorship funding, this has not been forthcoming. Therefore, notwithstanding the sterling efforts made by both organisations and individuals who have supported our work over the last five years, the Trust finds that solely funding this national event has now become unsustainable.
It is, therefore, with great regret and personal sadness that as founder of the Andrea Adams Trust, I have decided to close our campaign office with effect the 31st April and unless we are successful in finding another source to provide future leadership for this event, this national day will cease.
To those who have supported are campaign I pass on my sincere appreciation and thanks and I hope that the good work carried out by so many organisations and individuals to raise awareness of this insidious behaviour will be built on in the coming years.
