40% of UK organisations still do not have an effective policy on workplace bullying.

Organisations can be fearful of showing their support for this campaign in case it indicates an inherent problem within their own culture.

Targets of bullying are either fearful that making a complaint will worsen the situation, or that they simply won’t be believed. Too many people still feel that bullying is normal working practice.

Witnesses of bullying can be too afraid of being targeted themselves to speak up against it.

The idea behind Ban Bullying at Work day 2008 is to inspire everyone across the UK to come to their senses and understand that workplace bullying is not an issue to be swept under the carpet. Surely, it is time to collectively speak out.
